Comments: After chatting with my mom tonight I found out that my granddaddy, her father was a Seabee. I did not know my mom's side very well as we lived far away from them, I am eager to find out more.
My granddaddy's name was Grover Dellinger. Vienna, VA He served in WWII and although there is no chance of anyone knowing him since so much time has passed I was hoping there might be a shred of chance someone might be able to give me information about what the Seabees did during this time at war. I will try and get more information from my mom about his division rank etc. Thank you
Comments: Looking for anyone that knew my Dad, Walter John Mellenberger aka "Mully".
He joined the Navy Dec 66 and served with the MCB-71 (Davisville, RI) as a CE from approx 67-69 and was in Chu Lai in 1968, but may have been in 67 and/or 69. He was also stationed at NAVSTA Rota, Spain from approx 69-71. He separated as a PO2 CE.
I was told he was friends with someone by the name of Edward Florian, whom he met at Davisville.
He was originally from Green Bay, WI and passed in 1991 in CA at the age of 44.
Anyone that knew him, please contact me at email@example.com. I only got a few short years with him and am looking to find anyone who can tell me more about his time in, as well as any pictures. I'm working on a memorial for him, as well as for the grandchildren he never met, so they may know more about him as well.
Thank you to all those that have served, and those that currently are.
Comments: So sad to receive notice that Master Chief Navy Counselor Todd A Pike has passed away. Todd was a great shipmate, dedicated to his job and love of the Navy deeply. He worked with me when I was the Command Career Counselor for NMCB 62, just prior to my retirement. I knew Todd would go on to greater things, and he did. I'm proud to have served with him, and I was proud to have him as my friend.
