I know this might be a bit of a long shot but I'm trying to find out about my Grandpa's time in the service. His name was Albert "Lefty" Gittemeier and he served as a Seabee in the Pacific during WWII. If anyone out there knew him I'd sure like to hear from you. I served with MCB4 from 52 to 54,went to ACB2 in Little Creek,Va.where I shipped for 6 yrs.Went on shore duty in Winter Harbor Me.USNRadioSta.In 59 went to MCB9 to Okinawa,Adak & Midway.Transfered to MCB5 at Hueneme,and went index.html to Okinawa to relieve MCB3 and was discharged in Nov.1961 I was a CMA2 for 7 yrs.Looking for my old buddys I served with.
