My father, Rock LaBerge Jr. was MM3 with 100th Bn. in 1944-45. He was WIA
on Samar in Aug. 45 and lost touch with all in unit post-war. He died in
1995 but I am interested in finding out what happened to his unit after he
was returned to the States. I would also like to correspond with any
survivors who may have known him. I was not a Seabee myself but was a GMG3
on an LST in Viet Nam and knew many of them very well. I have never known
a more competent group of sailors (except maybe gator navy). Thanks for
everything.

I'm looking for ANY informtaion I can find out about my father's service in
the Seabees in WW II. His name was Robert (Bob) William Nein from Ohio. I
only know that he served in the Gilberts and worked on the 7th Air force
housing including a Gen. Hale's house. I have a picture of him on Tarawa
with a buddy, last name : Ruehl. I also have a picture of him with buddies
(Bagley & Egeland) on Mt. Lasso or Losso? overlooking the North Strip.
(that is written on the index.html of the pict.)Does this ring a bell anyone? My
father is gone now and I would love to learn more. Of course I was too
young to listen when he was still here, and regret it horribly now. Does
anyone know how to find more info?
