The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Petty Officer 2nd Class Charles V. Komppa, 35, of Belgrade, Mont., died Oct. 25 from enemy action while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was serving with the 3rd Naval Construction Regiment, Multi-National Corps – Iraq, and was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 18, Detachment 0618 in Billings, Mont. Looks Like we lost another brother from 30NCR. While there is no other info other than the construction regiment one must assume he was a Bee.
