MCB-1, 1977-1981, Pearl Harbor 1982-1984, MCB-5, 84-88, CBU-421, 88-90, MCB-3, 90-93, CBU-421, 93-97. Retired out of Everett, Washington Mar 97. It was a great tour but it was time to move on, not saying to better things, but time dont stop for us. Good Luck to the folks in the sand pit, and to you Ed Shurman, EX SW, who is now in the Army after he left us when we were in MCB-1. groundpounder, good luck and keep your tanks running and your head down buddy. I stopped in to let all of you who knew my Dad, EQCM (SCW)(Ret.) George Staples, that he passed away on March 14th, 2006 at 2155. He was the Commander of Island X-18 in Citrus County, FL. Dad loved the Seabees and was proud to be part of the Seabee Vets. He showed his "Can Do" Spirit right up to the end of a 3 year battle with cancer. He will be missed by all. Added: March 16, 2006 |

Just dropped in to take a look see, We buried my wife's uncle this weekend turns out he was a brother bee served in the army during the big one and then joined the Bees in 1950. His name was Norman C. Smith from Bonners Ferry Id. Another brother gone. God rest. Added: March 15, 2006 |
