My father Anthony served with the 58th,from 1943-46.Since childhood we
tried to pry stories out of him about Vela Lavella,the Admirialty
Islands,and of course Okinawa.Like most vets,he really did not like to talk
much about it.His service was of great pride to him as it is to me.He
passed away in 1996,a Seabee to the end.

My father Norman T Carrow (Bozo) served on Guam in 1945 and 1946 in the
109th, 56th Batallion. As a barber Boza met many servicmen and was known
for his great sence of humor and love for a cold adult beverage. He talks
admirably abuout two gentleman by the names of Raymond DeBlair from
Madison, Wisconsin and Ceorge Cummings from Montrose, Colorado. If you
have any information regarding these gentlemnan please contact me at the
above email address. It would be a great gift to reunite old friends from
the greatest generation that served our country. Thank you.

Your National Convention, held in conjunction with the Department of
Florida's convention and reunion is drawing very close AUG.2-6, 2006, and
the cut off date for the SEABEE discounted rate is July 3rd. Please send in

Very nice article in the June "Can Do", on NSVA Island X-5 and
Katrina help. I'm very proud of being a Seabee, and especially proud of my
fellow Seabees at this Island. Typical "Can Do" if I ever saw it.
