My father Anthony served with the 58th,from 1943-46.Since childhood we tried to pry stories out of him about Vela Lavella, the Admirialty Islands, and of course Okinawa.Like most vets,he really did not like to talk much about it.His service was of great pride to him as it is to me.He passed away in 1996,a Seabee to the end.
